What is SNL?
Saturday Night Life is an evening worship service offered by Trinitarian Congregational Church. This service proclaims the same gospel message as Sunday morning, but through an informal atmosphere meeting in our multi-use space adjacent to the sanctuary. SNL is about bringing the truth of the Gospel to the Metro West community through an organic and authentic Christian community. Jesus is at the core of all we do. “For I resolved to know nothing while I was with you except Jesus Christ and him crucified.” 1 Corinthians 2:2
How can I get involved?
The best way is to eat together! We hold occasional meals as a community after the service. We also encourage folks to go to meals together after the service or invite people into our homes for dinner when a group meal is not planned. Stay after and meet someone over coffee and cleanup.
How else can I get involved?
The other best way to connect with folks in the church is to serve together. Consider getting involved with one of the ministry teams:

What should I expect?
It can be intimidating coming to church sometimes. At SNL, you can expect an informal worship service of music, prayer, and preaching oriented around a warm and caring community. People of all ages and all walks of life are welcome to attend. Most people come wearing the clothes they put on Saturday morning. Childcare is available for the youngest children, but teens and elementary age children are invited to the service.

Praising: We begin and end our services with joyful songs! A live band of guitars, keyboards, and drums leads the congregation in sung worship. Through contemporary songs we are encouraged to praise God with our voices, hearts, minds, and bodies. Participation is invited but not at all required. If you are just exploring the service and would rather simply listen that’s okay! Often our music is upbeat and celebratory – other times it is slow and contemplative. We desire to worship God through both our celebrations and our laments. Whatever the mood, we strive to worship God authentically – we bring our whole selves to worship, not just what looks good to others.
Praying: before the message we will spend some time in prayer lead by the preaching pastor. This is a time where we offer our hearts and minds to God before hearing the message, and offer our concerns to God who delights in hearing our prayers.
Proclaiming: Our time of preaching is typically oriented around a passage of scripture that speaks into our lives, and the life of our church. If you have a bible you are encouraged to bring it, but important passages and verses will be projected on the screen for us to follow along. The sermon typically lasts 20-30 minutes and draws from contemporary images and metaphors to shine the light of the Gospel on our lives.
Blessing: After a few final songs of praise in response to the message, we are sent from the service with a blessing to “go and do likewise”. We come to church not simply to be filled, not simply to be loved, but to share God’s love with our community. The blessing reminds us that we are God’s hands and feet in the world.
