This Sunday at TCC

Jim continues preaching in the series “Following Jesus in the Real World,” which is a study in the Gospel of Mark. This Sunday’s message is “Of Bread, Yeast and Unbelief”, from Mark 8:1-21, and looks at what Jesus says about people who persist in their unbelief.

There will also be a “New Wave” testimony given in church this Sunday.

New Wave Dinner and Project Tour, May 17

The New Wave Dinner is scheduled for Saturday, May 17. All new members and friends of TCC are invited to the home of Kristin and Kevin Neprud. The program at this dinner will bring all our new people up to speed on what God has done in recent history at TCC in leading His church to the momentous decision to build, and providing the necessary resources. A tour of the new facility will happen at 5:00 and the dinner starts at 6:00. There is no cost and no obligation, and all those who are new to TCC will receive an invitation. RSVP’s may be made to the church office or at the Welcome Table.

Pentecost Project Reminder

For those of you who took home your origami dove project last week, please bring back your completed work this Sunday.  These wonderful doves, which will symbolize the gift of the Holy Spirit given to each of us, will be incorporated into our visual worship service on Sunday, May 18th.  Don’t miss the chance for your “doves” to be part of the celebration!  Look for the designated drop-off spot near the Welcome Table at the Wayland Middle School this Sunday.

One-time A cappella Choir forming

We’d like to invite all singers, middle school and up, to join us for an A cappella choir that will sing on Sunday, May 18. There will be one final rehearsal (7:00 -7:30 p.m.) on Wednesday night, May 14. We have CD’s available for learning purposes. If interested, please call Beth at the church office (508-358-7717 X213) or sign up at the Welcome Table.

Live the Adventure Family Work Day, Saturday, May 10th

It’s not too late to sign up for TCC’s Family Work Day this Saturday.  We would like to offer you this opportunity to work beside your children and model what it means to “serve one another” and meet the need of several folks in our congregation.  Here is how it works - you choose any two hours between the hours of 8 a.m. -4 p.m. and we’ll call you with the name and address of a church member and the jobs that they need done. We will assign houses / jobs that are appropriate for the ages of your children. The jobs will vary from raking, spreading mulch, planting flowers, to moving objects that need to be discarded.  Please contact Gail or Karlene at the church office x 208 before Friday noon.

Live the Adventure Service Opportunity

The Kindergarten – Grade 1 Girls Small Group will cook meals for fellow parishioners on Tuesday, May 13 from 3:30 - 5:00 p.m. at the home of Isabella LaCava, 7 Yeager Way, Wayland. Contact Gail Hughson at the church office if you have questions or if you need a permission form.

New Children's Ministries E–Letter

Attention “Live the Adventure” Parents with elementary age children!!  Be on the lookout for the new Children's Ministries E–Letter!  We are always looking for ways to partner with parents and hope this tool will enable you to better connect with what your elementary age children are learning at Live the Adventure, as well as foster enthusiasm for life application.  Let us know what you think!

Jr. PF Game Night, May 9th

All 6-8th graders are invited to join in on Jr. PF Game Night. There will be board games, running games, thinking games, moving games, all kinds of games. Feel free to bring your favorites along, and maybe we'll have time for those too! See you in Bradford Hall on Friday May 9, from 7-9 p.m. Come get your game on!

Confirmation Update

Our 7th graders are completing their confirmation course this week. Next Sunday, May 18, we will be having a confirmation service in our 10:00 worship service. Please keep these students and their mentors in prayer, as they finish their course, and prepare to make statements about their faith!

Senior Banquet, May 18

On Sunday evening, May 18, we will be honoring our graduating high school seniors at the annual PF Senior Banquet. From 6:30-8:30 p.m. all seniors and their families are invited to a dinner and presentation in Bradford Hall. We will be praying for our seniors as we send them out from TCC. If you are the parent of a senior, and you are interested in attending, please contact Kelly Bishop.

Attention TCC graduates and Parents

Please call or email the office with the name of the high school or  college graduate, the school they are graduating from, the degree earned (if applicable), and the school or their plans for the Fall.  This information must be received by June 1st. A listing of graduates will be printed in the bulletin on June 15th as well as in the July issue of Tidings. Contact Debbie Wilson at 508-358-7717, ext 209, or office@tccwayland.org.

Stephen Ministry Forum, May 12

Learn how to put your love into action!  A forum will be held on Monday, May 12th at 7:30 p.m. in Weston.  All who want to learn more about Stephen Ministry training (thus joining 500,000 Stephen Ministers across the world) or receiving Stephen Ministry care are urged to attend.  For more information, call Jo Marshall, Stephen Ministry Leader, at 508-358-7913.

Men’s Book group

The Men’s Book Group is starting "The Reason for God" by Tim Keller.  Pastor Jim will lead the discussion at the first meeting, which will be held on Wednesday, May 14 at 6:30 a.m. in Bradford Hall, and will include breakfast. If you haven’t already brought the book, a few copies will be available at the Welcome Table.  Contact Paul Church at pchurch@caregroup.harvard.edu  or Glenn Sacra at gsacra@comcast.net for more information.

Women's Luncheon, June 22

Mark your calendar for Sunday, June 22 so you can be sure to join us for a TCC Women's luncheon.   Enjoy visiting with friends over lunch and meeting new ones, too.  Be encouraged by Leslie Soiles as she speaks to us about what's on her heart.  Look for an “evite” in your email with more details.  Interested in volunteering?  Contact Sue Wiggill (awiggi@comcast.net) or Amber Miller (ber_bruin@yahoo.com) for more information.
