My story:
Born and raised in French-speaking Switzerland, my first real job was in forestry. At 18, I attended the Abbey School for the English language in London (close to the Beatles’ studio on Abbey Road). At that time, I made a serious commitment to serving Jesus and joined Youth With A Mission (YWAM) in England. The call to preach and teach the Word came in 1986 in the School of Biblical Studies in YWAM Hawaii. My various roles over the years both in the Church and the Academy have only strengthened and confirmed my vision for discipleship through the Word.
My journey to TCC:
Trinitarian Congregational Church feels very much like home since Donna and I were both ordained by TCC in 2012 and served as Pastoral Associates until 2015. I returned as part-time Interim Senior Pastor in early 2016. The call to become the next Senior Pastor was extended in 2017. By the grace of God, TCC has a great heritage as a faithful witness. The Lord is at work in our midst as we proclaim the Gospel in Metrowest and throughout the world. We are fervently praying for renewal and revival in our region!
A meaningful verse to me:
“He gives power to the faint, and to him who has no might he increases strength. Even youths shall faint and be weary, and young men shall fall exhausted; but they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint” (Isaiah 40:29-31).
The Book of Isaiah in general and chapter 40 in particular continues to have a profound impact in my own life and journey of faith. This promise is captured in the voice of the Good Shepherd, the Lord Jesus, to all of us today and our own weariness: “Come to me all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest” (Matthew 11:28 ESV)
